I finally met Adam - March 13/14, 2012

My friend Judy and I left Maine on Monday afternoon. We were driving to NH to meet up with Sue and head for Hartford Tuesday morning. We were thrilled Monday night that we were able to watch Season 8 American Idol on her TV. Her husband even watched with us. We left NH around 7:30am Tuesday. It was an easy drive, we talked non-stop about Adam for 3 hours. That's not hard to do. When we arrived in Hartford, we met up with another friend. Both Sue and this other friend had tickets to The Russian Lady but Judy and I didn't. We were just hoping to get a glimpse of Adam. Or even a photo or something signed from him. When Sue and Claudia were getting ready to go to the venue to line up Judy and I decided we'd go early too. It couldn't hurt and we would at least meet up with some other Glamberts. So we arrived at The Russian Lady early. We had seen several people being told that they were not going to let anyone in who was not on the list. I had decided I would take my chances and it worst came to worst, maybe we'd only get a photo or signature outside the venue at the end. It was about 1/2 hour before the performance started when a friend came up to me and said she had an extra ticket and would I go to the performance in Boston with her. She said she knew I had never met Adam and wanted me to be able to see him. I was so excited. So we decided to order drinks and sit and relax. We would wait to see Adam after the performance was over. Then to our surprise, the venue decided to let people in. I walked over to the staff and asked if I could please go in. The nice gentleman gave me a wristband and said sure. I think I walked up the stairs in a fog. OMG I was finally going to be able to see Adam perform at an intimate venue with less than 100 people. I think I hugged and thanked profusely every guy up that stairs and around the corner that I saw. I finally got into the venue and the DJ just started to announce that Adam was there. I was sort of in the back of the venue but near where the area was roped off so I figured that Adam was going to be walking up that area. OMG 5 seconds later Tommy comes out that door, and I say Hi Tommy and he waves to me and says hello. I'm so giddy and excited that I'm not paying attention and Adam walks out and on his way to the stage. OMG there's Adam and he's only like 15 feet from me. He gets on the stage and he's laughing that everyone has their camera out, and can't they share their own photos. LOL I'm laughing because probably everyone here is from other states and they don't even know each other. But oh well. He sings and answers questions. Then they ask Tommy what its like working for Adam. I thought I was going to die. LOL LOL LOL I can't remember all his replies, something about mediocre singer and not that good looking LOL The performance was over so quickly, but the DJ took the mic and said "Anyone who is getting pictures go up to this area. and those who do not want pictures come down here and they would escort those people out. Well, I was up there by sheer luck and didn't think I would be one of the lucky ones to get a photo. I asked several people if that is what they said over the microphone. So I made my way to the front of the room and got in line. I kept thinking, no this cannot be I just have a wrist band, when I get up there they will tell me that I can't have a photo. But the line kept getting shorter. My friend Judy and I decided if we had the choice we would like separate photos since this was a "once in a lifetime experience". Well it was my turn to go into the area where they take your handbag and jacket. I spoke with this gentleman and he said you won't need this for the photo. Then he said okay its your turn, and I said back to him "its really my turn, I can go?" and he said yes. At that point I turned and Adam was looking at me. The first thing I said to him was "OMG I'm actually meeting you". I put out my hands like I was trying to reach him, and he took my hands and listened to me for what it seemed like a blue streak. I told him that I loved his music and that I had been to Foxwoods, Hyannis, Cohasset, Hampton Beach, Jingle Ball Philly and St Agathe in Quebec to see him perform. He asked my name and all I could think of was "I'm WshUpnASta on twitter" and showed him my twitter necklace. LOL I thanked him for being him. He looked into my eyes while I talked the whole time. We turned and took the photo. I knew I was smiling because it was one of the best times of my life. It rates right up there with having my kids. Mysteriously my pocketbook etc appeared in front of me, I never saw that man bring it over, and all he said was walk this way. I got over to the area, and another gentleman said be careful, there's a step you have to step down. I remember saying to him "I think I am in shock". My friend Sue met me at the bottom of the stairs and we watched a few people get photos but then I walked down stairs to get my drink. A white russian was surely what was needed to calm my nerves. It was so much fun downstairs listening to everyone's Adam stories. People were so happy to meet him. Some were 1st timers. I walked back to the hotel in a daze and it was very hard to sleep that night knowing that I had finally met Adam Lambert. The next morning, we got up and left Hartford for Boston. At least in Boston we all had tickets for the show. This was just icing on the cake. We waited outside for about 3 hours before Adam arrived and did sound check. I was able to get some photos of him arriving and of him and Tommy during the performance. I loved how he knows that us fans have really good questions to ask, sometimes better than radio station questions. Well the performance was over but the DJ said if you want photos to line up and that's what we did. It was all very surreal. I was going to be able to ask Adam for a hug. That's the one thing that I wanted and hadn't asked him the night before. This time the venue wanted people to go in pairs for photos. For me it was no problem since I already had my single photo. (which I will cherish for life). My friend Judy came to find me in line because we had to go together. When it was our turn, we walked into the room. There was a lady from the radio station who took our jackets and purses. Adam was just a few feet away and the first thing I said to him was "May I please have a hug?" he said of course! OMG I got this great hug. I think I am still in his arms because I feel him around me. My friend Judy asked for a hug and got one too. It was crazy. I told him I saw him perform in Hartford the night before and that I loved the perfomance, and that I would see him on Twitter. He smiled. I smiled and then was ushered out. This was such a surreal week. I know I will never forget it. It was made possible by so many wonderful friends. I just feel that "pay it forward" certainly comes into play here. I hope you enjoyed this!

Adam Lambert 9/12 - Cumberland County Civic Center

Sorry this is a long time coming but I couldn't come to grips with the fact that the tour is over. It will be a couple of months before Adam's CD is released (Nov 24th to be exact)Sept 12th........ for many nights before this I had nightmares that I slept through the 12th and missed the concert. So when the 12th came, I just had to keep breathing and tell myself to relax. I made a check list to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything. binoculars, camera, cell phone, cash, credit cards LOL

My sister Pam came with me to the concert, while I tried to leave the house earlier than 4:50pm to get there we didn't. I made sure I put on my eyeliner, glitter make up and wore my "Adam Lambert Rainbow lips t-shirt" which I absolutely love. I ordered it from JoyRichStore in Los Angeles. I wore funky jewelry which I found at Wal-Mart, the necklace had every single color of the rainbow lips so I was pleased. We arrived in the parking garage at 5:15pm and ended up parking on Level D. I found a parking place in a corner where I backed in and could easily get out when the time came.We got to the Cumberland County Civic Center, and people were at the barricades, but none of the idols had come out yet. We weren't sure if they were going to come out either. We waited outside for about 20 minutes and saw lots of cool t-shirts on people showing the love for Adam and Kris. There were several posters done too.We went inside to stand in line to give our tickets. We could tell something was going on because we could hear cheers from the other entrance. Twice I walked over, but only to find out that Adam Lambert had come out from the restaurant and gone back inside. A girl was lucky enough to take his picture on her digital camera and showed me. It was at this point that I knew he was going to wear his hair down tonight. He looked gorgeous, and all smiles. We finally got to go inside the arena at 6 pm and found our seats. They weren't bad, but I really wanted to see Adam Lambert close up. The next thing I did was go to the concession stand to make sure I got programs and pics of Adam for myself and "Pam" in California. All the lights were still on in the arena and we were probably the 1st 25 people to go inside. It was amazing to see the arena fill up fast! By 7:00 show time it was full. I was happy to see all of the Idols perform and while I only had followed Adam's set, it was new for me to hear the other idols sing their songs. The crowd showed their love for all of them! When it was "Adam" time you KNEW it was Adam time. The whole place just went wild when they showed his preview on the screen. He came out and sang "Whole Lotta Love" and boy he shared love with all of us! Even the mic stand got lucky! He sang "Woman" during this song which I loved, other people prefer "baby" since its universal, but I soooo wanted "woman". Next came "Starlight". I just love this song, I have it as a ringtone on my cell phone! I just love how me moves across the stage and just sucks you right in. I was mesmerized by his performance. "Mad World" was next he's on the stage with "fog" all around just sitting on a stool. His vocals are just unbelievable. I think at one point you could hear a pin drop in the arena. We were just in awe and just couldn't even move. But then comes "Slow Ride" with Allison and OMG the crowd goes crazy again. Nothing was actually thrown on the stage during this song in Portland, but there has been epic things thrown during this song at other arenas. Adison mesh on stage during this song and get to play with each other. It was fun to watch. The last song is a David Bowie medley. Life on Mars, Fame and Let's Dance.During Adam's set he wears black pants with studs on them, black vest with sequins on it and a gorgeous blue/gray leather jacket with all sorts of metal accessories.

Its during the medley that a transformation takes place. He starts out singing Life on Mars and then before "Fame" he slides out of the leather jacket and you have never heard so many screams in your whole life. I bet the arena's temperature went up 15 degrees right then and there. He owns the stage at this point, with all his sexy moves he makes eye contact with everyone close enough to look at him. He really could be a stripper if he wanted to be, he has the moves! LOL His last song is Let's dance, he sings and just dances all around. We don't want this song to end because this is it. He makes it like he's actually dancing with you on the stage. At the end of the song he goes down a lift in the stage and disappears but not before saying "THANK YOU PORTLAND".Kris comes on next. It was nice to see him since two nights before he wasn't able to perform per doctors orders. He did a nice job, but you could tell he wasn't feeling 100%. Then comes the finale and the groups since Hey Jude, and Don't Stop Believing. Adam changes his clothes for this set and comes out in navy shirt, denim studded vest, and navy pants. I didn't want the show to end, but the lights came on and the crowd slowly dispersed.

My sister and I went to the barricades and stood out for about 15 minutes, but then realized that probably Adam wasn't coming out since he hasn't lately. We went to the garage and it wasn't too bad getting out, I had my "Adam Lambert" cd on and the windows down so everyone could hear it. It took us 20 minutes to get home. I get online to find out that Adam is having a "Twitter Party" could the night get any better.(yes if he'd actually answer one of my questions, but that's another story)I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and I will see Adam Lambert on his solo tour when and if he does one. This is one memory that I will never forget!
